During the 2018 Consumer Electronics Showcase, Marantz unveiled the latest in masterful home cinema — the AV8805, a 13.2 channel pre-amplifier. Unrivaled by any other pre-amp, the AV8805 is the first in the world to feature 13.2 channels and full 4K Ultra HD network support, plus integrations with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D. It has already generated excitement amongst HiFi enthusiasts and other press in the audiophile community.
Beyond the Marantz suite, a recurring theme across the floor at CES was the steady incline toward voice automation. Polk Audio revealed the Command Bar, the first sound bar with Alexa built-in. It’s likely to revolutionize how we perceive home theater and smart home connectivity, and affirms the demand for voice control in all aspects of our lives.
The Marantz AV8805, as well as other Marantz AVRs and pre-amplifiers, is no stranger to voice automation. The AV8805 can be voice-activated via integrated HEOS technology that works with Amazon Alexa. With it, you can use your voice to switch inputs between media players, pause or play a song, turn the volume up and more.
If you were unable to attend CES or follow along online, take a look at some of the highlights from the Marantz suite and become more familiar with the AV8805.
